Twas The Day of Dave’s Birthday…
Twas the day of Dave’s birthday and all through the shop,
Not a customer was lurking and you know Dave was HOT.
The cigars were all stocked in the humidor with care,
In hopes that anybody soon would be there.
When outside the shop there rose such a clatter,
Dave sprang from Golden Tee to see what’s the matter.
The flakes were falling adding more to the snow,
The air was bitter cold it felt like ten below.
When what to his wondering eyes should appear,
But Tim in his van bringing rum and beer.
With a caravan of people all lined in a row,
And then of course Andre with his briefcase in tow,
Now Allen, now Bobby, now Will and D.K.,
They bring their own sticks so they don’t have to pay.
On Tony, on Gilley, on Reggie and Chestnut,
All looking for Will to fall on his butt.
Now Robert, now Dan, now John and Irish Steve,
They come at closing time and don’t want to leave.
On Kasper, on Craig, on Rich and Biker Bob,
If they could spend all day here let’s give them a job.
Now Dana, now Kenny, now Torvis and Brett,
When they start telling stories the volume is set.
It’s too cold for golf so I guess they’ll play darts,
There goes Chris again with his belches and farts.
Dave’s drinking, smoking and betting Chris on Golden Tee,
Now time for a power nap in front of the plasma TV.
“Front Door Open” here come the others,
Included in them were no doubt some brothers.
The Rizzos, the Zozoulias, and Stan and Drew,
You thought I meant black guys, oh there ARE a few.
Now there’s the man Dave calls Big Dick Vic,
The fact that he know that is definitely sick.
And the military men Tony, Alva and Mike,
Their stories of boot camp we better damn like.
Then there’s Alec Bradley, Kristoff and Drew Estate,
Every cigar event we’ve had turned out to be great.
You never know when you come what Dave’s mood will be,
Chicago weather is nothing compared to Double D.
But today is especially scary because today he’s forty years,
What better way to celebrate but with jokes and jeers.
So come one come all with your favorite Dave story or line,
Happy Birthday Dave, hope you have a fantastic time.
Thanks for the memories,
Viv
